Guiding Families Toward Financial Stability

AHNI’s Financial Empowerment Program (FEP) is designed to help AHNI residents work toward financial stability.  The FEP offers free one-on-one financial guidance 1-2 times per month with volunteer mentors trained to assist and guide them toward financial stability, homeownership, retirement or savings.

  •  Money Mechanics   Information regarding communication, credit, owning a car, record keeping, and spending plans. 

  • Divorce Matters  Marital separation and divorce can be two of the most difficult events.  Divorce Matters offers information on coping with stress and change.
  • Coping with Unemployment:  Loss of a job can be very difficult and effect you emotionally, financially and socially.  

INCOME TAX HELP

United Way – Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA):  VITA is an IRS program designed to help low- and moderate-income taxpayers complete their annual tax returns at no cost.

AnnualCreditReport.com:  Do not be fooled by look-alikes.  Lots of sites promise credit reports for free.  AnnualCreditReport.com is the only official site explicitly directed by Federal law to provide them.
